Making a
difference to
peoples lives

At BASIC we’re all about building accessible, safe and inclusive communities.

A Committee for Ballarat Future Shapers 2023 community project, we’re a hashtag, a community movement, a conversation starter, all of which aim to demonstrate how small changes can make big differences to peoples lives.

At the end of the day we just want people to feel safe, included and have great access to services.

Why be BASIC?

Businesses and community organisations can use the BASIC logo to promote, celebrate and share stories of what they are doing to become more accessible, safe and inclusive within their communities.

What’s in it for you?

Aside from making you a great human being and an outstanding corporate citizen, BASIC is good for business! It identifies you as an employer of choice, a service provider of choice and to highlights great corporate social responsibility.

We are a safe and inclusive space

We are a place free from discrimination, where everyone belongs. We respect and celebrate the diversity of our communities, including people of all cultural and faith backgrounds, classes, gender or sexual identities, ages and abilities and we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all.

“Everyone has a basic right to access services and information. When systems are accessible and inclusive by design, all people can understand, navigate and interact with the experience in their own way.”
